Call for Papers

Papers may be presented on any one of the Subject areas.
● Papers on Translation Theory should focus on at least one translated text for illustrating
the problems of translation.
● Papers on Comparative Literature may explore texts and contexts cutting across genres, time-periods and authors from all over the Globe.

Dates: 18th, 19th and 20th April, 2014.

Venue: Kolkata, at Jibonananda Sabhaghar, W. B. Govt. Arts Complex, Nandan. (Beside Rabindra Sadan Metro station).

● Synopsis 250 words approx of intended paper should reach us by e-mail latest by 1st March, 2014.
● Acceptance or otherwise will be notified by e-mail within 10th March, 2014..
● Presentation time for each paper: Highlights only: 15 minutes.
● A total of 30 selected papers only can be accepted for the three days of the seminar.
Accepted papers should reach us by 7th April, 2014. Complete papers should be in MS word format with relevant documentation.
● Registration Fee: Rs.2000/- per participant payable after acceptance of paper. For research scholars and students Rs.1000/-. For foreign participants $200/-.
●The organizers will help participants with affordable accommodation in Kolkata during the conference dares.

A selection of papers presented may be printed in peer-reviewed ISSN/ISBN publications by July-August, 2014. (Conditions apply)

NEW YEAR Greetings. Let this 2014 bring us new promises and new hope to achieve higher destinations, both at personal and academic levels.

I am glad to inform you that I have planned to bring out a book on “DIMENSIONS OF INDIAN DIASPORA: THEMES AND TECHNIQUES.” As rightly pointed out by Amitav Ghosh “the Indian Diaspora is one of the most important demographic dislocation of Modern Times” and each day is growing and assuming the form of representative of a significant force in global culture. A study on Indian Diaspora always yields a potential field of research to both researchers and academicians. Hence the proposed book aims at bringing out the different dimensions of diaporic experience – including phases of Diapora, multiethnic issues, phases and process of acculturation, etc. – as portrayed by the Indian Diasporic Writers across the world and the techniques employed by them in explicating and theorizing those dimensions.

Unpublished PAPERS ARE INVITED from scholars, critics and academicians, reflecting scholarly and critical approach towards the central theme of the book. Papers will be selected through Blind Peer Review system. Contributors will be informed regarding the selection of the papers through email. The book will be published by a reputed Publishing House with an ISBN number.
